Second Baptist Celebrates Men and Women’s Day 2017

On September 24, 2017, Second Baptist Church celebrated Men and Women’s Day.  Information about the speakers for the morning and afternoon events can be found here.  It was a joyous event during which the men announced that they raised $900, while the women announced that they raised more than $1500.

Program

Women’s Day Service 11:00 AM Speaker: Rev. Mary Jane Downs, Second Baptist Church, Rushville, IN
Men’s Day Service 3:00 PM Speaker: Rev. Harvey Leggett, Broadway Baptist Church, Madison, IN

Dinner will be served following the morning service, after guests have arrived.

Menu

Chili with beans

Side fixings: shredded cheese, onions, crackers, cut up veggies or fruit cups, chips, cookies or cake, milk.

Items Needed:

10 lbs ground beef
8 cans MILD chili beans
3 gallons 2% milk
8 pkgs mild chili powder
3 boxes of crackers
Chips
2 large cans tomato juice
3 large bags chopped onions
2 large bags of celeri
2 large bags of carrots
fruit cups
cookies and cake

Baptism – September 3, 2017

On Sunday September 3, Brother Roosevelt Holliday joined the community of believers at Second Baptist Church.  He was baptized by Rev. Larry Rowe assisted by Deacon Cleveland Stallworth.

Second Baptist Visits Galatians Missionary Baptist Church

Event Date – September 10, 2017

Second Baptist Church will support Men’s and Women’s Day at Galatians Missionary Baptist Church, New Albany

Morning Service:  Rev. Toby Branom, Women’s Day Speaker

Afternoon Service:  Rev. Larry Rowe, Men’s Day Speaker

Members of Second Baptist Church are encouraged to attend.  The church van will depart at 9:15 am.

For those who do not intend to travel to New Albany, the doors of the Church will be open.

Sunday School: 9:30 am

Morning Service: 11:00 am
